Allston Village Main Streets Seeks Part-time Program Assistant
Allston Village Main Streets (AVMS) is seeking a part-time program assistant to help the executive director and Main Streets committees with facade/sign program marketing and administration; fundraising support; event-planning; volunteer recruitment and management; businesses outreach; administrative support (correspondence, mailings, database maintenance, banking, etc.); and other projects to be determined as needs arise and according to the assistant’s skills and interests.
The position is 20 hours a week, though hours are flexible and may vary accord-ing to need and the assistant’s schedule. Expected start date will be around October 1, 2010.
Skills needed for the position include an ability to work independently; excellent written and oral communication skills; computer literacy; community organizing experience; and promotion and event-planning interest. Bilingual skills (English and Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Portuguese or Korean) preferred. A bachelor’s degree and experience in one or more of the listed fields is required.
